Investment Property Mortgage Details
To obtain a bank mortgage on an investment property, you are required to have at least a 20% down payment. Residential rates are available for 1-4 unit rental properties. 35 year amortizations are available. Commercial mortgages are available to purchase or refinance all types of commercial buildings, multi-family units and apartment buildings. Commercial mortgage rates are slightly higher than residential rates. Commercial lenders have different criteria for each situation. Private mortgages, which often provide greater flexibility, are also available for investment properties. Bad credit mortgages are available for all property types.
